Default 1997 16' Sylvan Explorer SC with 1997 40hp Mercury

My wife has talked me into selling my fishing boat. It's been a great boat for me, but summers are busy and with a 18 month old little one they will be even busier! I know it's not the right time of year to sell, but thought I would give it a try...

Here are some details:
It's a 1997 16' Sylvan Explorer side console with a 1997 40hp fuel injected Mercury with tilt and trim.

Includes:
- Bow mounted trolling motor
- 2 Hummingbird fish finders (one on console, one on bow with temp)
- 4 life jackets
- 2 anchors
- cup holders
- oar
- newer batteries
- live well
- radio
- boat cover
- plenty of storage

Fishes 2 very comfortably, but have fished 4 out of it with ease. Also small and light enough for one person to load/unload without any problems. It sits on a nice bunk trailer that is super easy to load (drive on) and has a transom saver as well as safety straps. Trailer has lifetime license. This boat has always been stored inside since I've owned it and winterized every year. Has normal wear for a boat of it's age, but overall in excellent condition!

I've added a windshield and cupholders since this picture was taken.

Currently the boat is in winter storage, but can be removed for serious buyers. Asking $5000 or best offer - Now reduced to $4500 OBO...

Or I'll wait until spring when the market for boats is a bit better..

I hope you worked out a clause with the wifey that in the future you will be able to purchase another fishing boat. I sold my boat and get the evil eye whenever I bring up purchasing another one.

btw, does it have a cover?

It was a clause that I worked into the agreement under certain cirumstances a new boat could be purchased. Also worked into the agreement that I could play some more golf in the summer.

Attempted to see if I could trade it for a perm wheel house for the ice. That discussion's been a bit tougher and I am losing.

And yes, it has a cover...guess I should have mentioned that. I'll edit the post.

Too bad about the loss of the boat ! I know that as my too have aged it has been harder to get out fishing !!! 18 monthes is the prefect age to introduce the kids to fishing !! hopefully you sell it !!!!

Sell the clubs keep the boat it will be cheaper in the long run

I think I need to keep the clubs...I'm much better at golfing than fishing!

Thunder, great looking boat. Wishing I had an extra $5000 to throw your way for it.

Thanks! I wish you had the $5k too!
It really is a good boat - perfect for metro lakes and could also handle some big water as well.

Actually, I spoke with my bro in law this weekend and he may want it...and knows a couple other guys that might be interested as well. We'll see...

Bittersweet for me. Fine now I suppose, but will probably regret it this spring!
